A Brief History of Chesapeake City, Maryland Long Creek View Inn, Chesapeake City, Maryland We are so close to so much, but offer a peaceful place to experience the three R's, Relax, Rest and Renew! Located on the Innkeepers original family farm, this gothic style bed and breakfast is nestled in the woods overlooking the tranquil creek for which it is named. A chorus of birds and frogs (perhaps even a deer or two) will greet you as you follow the winding lane to this "home away from home". A sense of peace and warmth greets you as you enter this light filled comfortable country inn decorated with cozy furnishings and antique accents including a 100-year-old hanging lamp in the front stairwell. Soft woodsy colors imitate the surrounding views of the creek and numerous flowerbeds. The guest rooms are comfortably furnished, and a full breakfast is included with your room. The ground floor has a living room with soft, overstuffed chairs and a fireplace for chilly fall and winter evenings. In the warmer weather the outside beckons with chairs on the covered back porch that overlooks the stream and the flowerbeds. A nature trail follows the stream for those of you who choose to add a little exercise to your day or you may just want to choose a place to read a good book. You can bring your own book or choose from one of the many you will find throughout the Inn. If you choose to be a little more adventurous, we can arrange a guided horseback ride through the surrounding woods and fields. Although we are surrounded by nature we are also close to many activities you can enjoy. Just three minutes from our front door is Historic Chesapeake City. Visit the quaint shops, dine in the wonderful restaurants, explore the Historic Canal Museum, buy an ice cream cone and watch the ships go through town. Wind up your day with a boat cruise on the canal and see our town from another view. Another day you might like to visit our local herb farm, or golf on one of our local courses. Located within an hours drive you can visit the many sites including Longwood Gardens, The Baltimore Aquarium or Dover Downs. |
